My Two Daughters with Type 1 Diabetes
Go from feeling Stressed, Sad, and Scared to feeling Calm, Confident, and Connected!
Being the Mom of a Kid with Type 1 Diabetes
is the REAL DEAL!!!
Being a Mom is hard core!
And the Mom of babies, toddlers, and little kids even more so!
Then add a diagnosis like this on top and
WOW!
Your life just went from crazy to completely out of control!
How did you feel those first few days at the hospital
after your precious sweetie was diagnosed?
Overwhelmed? Stressed? Angry? Worried? Sad? Anxious? Resentful?
How are you feeling now?
Overwhelmed? Stressed? Angry? Worried? Sad? Anxious? Resentful?
Are you excited about a life full of these awesome emotions? 🙄
I don’t need to remind you that this diagnosis is forever.
It’s not a cold or flu that you can give her some meds, rest, fluids, and
she’ll be all better after the virus runs its course.
We’re looking at our whole lives here.
That’s why I was so grateful for the Life Coaching tools
I had been learning.
When my daughters were diagnosed,
I still felt all the feelings but I wasn’t paralyzed by them.
I knew what to do with feelings.
I knew where they came from.
I knew they were not a problem that needed to be fixed.
That’s just one tool that has helped me on my journey
managing myself while I manage their T1D.
I have benefited so much from coaching through this ordeal,
I want to give back.
I want to help other moms in similar situations.
I don’t know how anyone can parent
without life coaching support.
I for sure don’t know where I’d be
through this diabetes roller coaster
without the help, support, and guidance of coaching.
I went to record this video for you of my top 3 tips
but the list kept going and going.
I have 20+ things I’d love to share with you
that I was so grateful to understand
and that continue to help me on the daily.
But for today
we’ll start with just 3.
This is my sweet little daughter the first night after she was diagnosed.
Wow! We sure were feeling all the feels! So many feelings!
She had no idea how her life was about to change.
I had no idea how my life was about to change!
This diagnosis is a complete life adjustment.
It is a full time job plus to manage.
All day and night. Day in and day out.
Constantly checking blood sugars
Constantly adjusting insulin
There’s nothing else like it.
There’s no way you can
know what to expect.
The drama goes on
Day and Night
Forever.
These are the thoughts that lead to overwhelm. The way we look at our circumstances is what gives them meaning.
We can choose to tell ourselves a different story. We can accept reality and create whatever results for ourselves that we want.
It’s all possible with coaching. My girls still have diabetes but I know how to manage my own thoughts and feelings in order to still be the mom I want to be. Diabetes doesn’t have to define them or me. It’s just one more thing we manage our minds and our emotions about.
I’d love to help you manage yourself while managing your child’s T1D. I’d be honored to be your coach and support you as you support them.
You’ve got this Momma! And I’ve got you!! Let’s Get Started!
What People Are Saying
“Emily is a phenomenal life coach specializing in parenting. She helped me learn about my thoughts and feelings as a mom. There's no shame in the thoughts and feelings we have but we can change our thoughts to give us happier results. I learned so much working with her and would highly recommend her as a life coach and friend. She's a sweetheart!”

“Emily did an awesome job helping me emotionally work through an issue I was having getting my child to go to sleep, my daughter has anxiety that tends to manifest itself the strongest at night. This has been years of struggle for both myself and my daughter, trying to balance both our needs have been challenging. Before we started the call, I remember thinking what could she possibly tell me that I have not already heard or advice that so many had already tried to offer in the past. Well I was in for a delightful surprise, she helped me see my mindset was hindering me and was not fruitful in getting the results I was hoping for and was hurting my relationships. She helped me reframe my thinking to a better way. And also being able to voice my discouragement out loud and not feel judged, but supported was vital for helping me reframe the situation and cope with it better! Please don’t hesitate to work with Emily, she is such a great coach!”
